FF 74

Collection U. Knoblauch

The FF 74 was probably used by the Berliner Verkehrsbetriebe (BVG) in West Berlin.

The manufacturer is the Fernsprecher-Zubehördienst-GmbH, Berlin. The body shape is identical to the FF 54 used by the Bundeswehr, but is probably made from a different material. The connector for handset cord is from an FF 33, where the date was milled out. The magneto is dated Sept. 1980.

The circuit is very simple, with a test button for the outgoing ringing current and probably with sidetone attenuation. The original microphone capsule was exchanged for a central battery capsule (max. 50 mA) from RFT.

The device shown was destroyed in a fire.
