OB 60
Significantly less OB 60 were acquired by the Deutsche Bundesbahn compared to the predecessor and successor models OB 33 and OB 70. The OB 33 were probably still usable in the 1960s. When they needed to be replaced in the 1970s, there was the successor model, the OB 70.
The housing is made of plastic. The components are wired through a cable harness. The circuit diagram shows how the set can be operated with ringing, busy and final signals. The bell's low resistance makes the use as a route telephone most unlikely. There are two versions: with crank inductor and electronic chopper.
The case looks more ergonomic than it actually is. The apparatus is so light that it has to be held firmly when turning the crank conductor. While the OB 33 can be lifted using the cradle and the OB 70 using the moulded recess; the OB 60 cannot be lifted with one hand. If a battery leaks in the battery compartment, the wires can corrode up to the terminal block.
